Austin, July 1998

A few informal words about myself and my family...

The picture below shows all of us  during the Spring Break, in March of 1998. From the left to the right: myself, my wife - Stasia, the youngest daughter - Monika (b. 1990), the oldest son - Mike (b. 1977), Marynia (b. 1987), Matthew (b. 1979), and Martin (b. 1981). Mike is a senior at UT, Matthew has just been accepted to UT, Martin is a senior in the St. Michael's Academy in Austin, Marynia is in the sixth grade, and Monika in the second grade, both in St. Austin's parish school.

Both Stasia and I are from the south of Poland. We met in Cracow where we had studied at the Jagiellonian University and Cracow University of Technology. We got married in 1976 and settled down in Cracow. Since 1980, we began our frequent visits to Austin sharing the next 13 years literally 50/50 between Cracow (Cracow University of Technology) and Austin (University of Texas at Austin). In 1993 we moved permanently to Austin.

We are Catholics and we strongly believe in Christian values. Stasia is active in our St. Austin's parish (just next to UT campus) and the schools. I share all my time between my work and my family. I like working around our house and the yard (gardening, simple car jobs). Three times a week I work out in a gym (weight lifting). Once a year we go skiing to New Mexico (see picture below).
