I am a PhD candidate in the Computational and Applied Mathematics program of Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, University of Texas, Austin. My advisor is Dr. Leszek Demkowicz. I am also a Research Assistant working on a DOE project related to multiscale phenomena and homogenization for an imprint lithography technique.

I am interested in numerical methods in general. In particular I work on finite element methods, numerical homogenization, adaptive meshes, fast computations, and generic programming in C++.

My earlier experience has been with spectral methods in context of shallow water equations, CAD software, and email spam classification.

I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. I was a Software Engineer at Geometric Software (now Geometric), a CAD software company. Later I was at McAfee Inc. (also called Network Associates then) working on SpamAssassin. In my undergraduate years, I worked as a summer intern at Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
